Sodium gluconate, with the chemical formula C₆H₁₁NaO₇ and CAS number 527-07-1, is an organosodium salt compound formed by the oxidation of glucose. It appears as a white crystalline powder or granules, readily soluble in water. It possesses excellent chelating, corrosion-inhibiting, dispersing, and stabilizing properties. It is non-toxic, readily biodegradable, and belongs to the category of green and environmentally friendly chemical additives. Sodium gluconate is widely used in the construction, concrete, water treatment, food, pharmaceutical, and electroplating industries.
