Ferrous sulfate, with the chemical formula FeSO₄, is commonly found in its heptahydrate form (FeSO₄·7H₂O). It is a light green crystalline or granular solid, readily soluble in water. It is an important inorganic chemical raw material with reducing, iron-supplementing, and flocculating properties, and is widely used in chemical, wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical, agricultural, and feed additive industries.

Product Application
Main Application Areas
1. Water Treatment Industry: Used as a flocculant and phosphorus remover for purifying sewage and industrial wastewater, removing phosphorus, heavy metals, suspended solids, and sulfides. It also has decolorizing, deodorizing, and water quality improvement functions.
2. Chemical Industry and Pigments: Used as a raw material in the manufacture of iron oxide pigments (yellow, red, and black iron oxide), and as a reducing agent, such as in the treatment of chromate and nitrate wastewater.
3. Agriculture: Used as a micronutrient fertilizer or soil conditioner to supplement iron and prevent crop chlorosis. Commonly used in fruit trees, vegetables, flowers, and other cash crops.
4. Pharmaceuticals and Feed: Pharmaceutical-grade ferrous sulfate is used to treat iron deficiency anemia; feed-grade ferrous sulfate is used in animal feed to supplement iron and promote growth.
5. Construction and Other Industries: Used as a cement colorant, waterproofing agent, and mildew inhibitor; used as a reducing agent and auxiliary agent in leather, printing and dyeing, and electroplating.
